True North Seed Potato Company Ltd., based in Outlook Saskatchewan, Canada produces high generation seed potatoes for other growers across North America. True North is a a strategic alliance between two companies. One is an accomplished potato production and management company and the other is a consortium of irrigated land owners. There are currently 2,500 acres of irrigated land committed under contract to True North. This arrangement has resulted in a high generation seed potato farm that produces approximately 6,000 tons of top quality seed each year. The Product:

As the potato industry grows and changes, growers appreciate the importance of disease free, vigorous seed. To ensure quality True North uses a fast flush closed seed system. The first generation comes from disease free nuclear seed from some of the best tissue culture labs in North America. This seed remains on the farm and is multiplied for two or three years resulting in the sale of Elite II and Elite III seed. This process allows for a high degree of quality control. To help preserve vigor and quality, a concentrated planting and harvest period has also been developed. True North has a modern climate-controlled storage facility. More >>
